On 7 December, 2022, EuropaBON’s scientific coordinator Jessi Junker gave a talk at Germany’s Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) on the concept of Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBVs) and their potential and relevance for policy-making at the ministerial level. The one-hour online colloquium was well attended by over 70 participants from organisations concerned with nature protection on the national level, the level of federal states as well as from natural history societies. The colloquium consisted of a 30 minute presentation, followed by a lively discussion with the participants.
