WP3 evaluates existing biodiversity data and describe the major workflows used to generate and use these data in policy and research environments. It also assesses the current biodiversity monitoring capacity across Europe and identifies information gaps and bottlenecks. In addition, a cost-effectiveness explores issues related to data quality, accuracy, representativeness and long-term availability versus monetary costs, total human capital involved, and non-economic added value in terms of knowledge generation, capacity building and community engagement of existing survey schemes and current data mobilization approaches.
