This conference, occurring one year after the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and the Global Biodiversity Framework agreement, focused on the crucial task of &#8216;Monitoring Biodiversity for Action.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The overarching theme of the conference centered on the development of best practices and innovative technologies for biodiversity observations and monitoring, with a specific emphasis on empowering policy. EuropaBON actively participated in this discourse, showcasing its work through a presentation titled &#8220;Gaps in Biodiversity Monitoring in Europe: an Essential Biodiversity Variables approach.&#8221; This presentation, delivered by a group of project members, including the EuropaBON coordinator Henrique Pereira (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.idiv.de\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iDiv<\/a>) and other consortium members, shed light on the project&#8217;s efforts and findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, a collaboration between EuropaBON and <a href=\"https:\/\/b-cubed.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">B-Cubed<\/a> project was highlighted, as in a presentation given by Lina Estupinan Suarez (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.idiv.de\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iDiv<\/a>), the link between B-Cubed&#8217;s approach to scaling data cubes for Essential Biodiversity Variables and its contribution to the estimation of species level Essential Biodiversity Variables identified by EuropaBON, was established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/europabon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-2.jpeg\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_8410-1024x768.jpeg\" class=\"wp-image-3288\" style=\"width:530px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europabon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-2.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/europabon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-2-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/europabon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-2-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/europabon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-2-50x38.jpeg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the conference, EuropaBON shared an exhibition stand alongside the projects B-Cubed and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bestmap.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BESTMAP<\/a>. Participants were able to pass by the stand and grab some of the projects&#8217; promo materials.
