Co-authored by W. Daniel Kissling of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uva.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Amsterdam<\/a> and a leader of EuropaBON\u2019s team on co-design of monitoring system, the paper serves as a commentary to a recent perspective paper that proposed &#8217;10 variables&#8217; to measure vegetation structure from airborne laser scanning for assessing species distributions and habitat suitability.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The publication takes a close look at the proposed variables and raises some pivotal concerns.
